AMETHYST
Amethyst is a modern logo design that I drew up while I was working on a one hour logo design challenge. The final logo needed to be based on a fictional printing company and mocked up within one hour.
I liked the simplicity of this logo and I wanted to expand on the brand identity by creating marketing materials to go along with it.
The brand identity of Amethyst focuses on using the bold purple color and the spouting ink drops as a design element throughout. The spouting ink drops make the logo more memorable.
The purple colors and geometric shapes of the triangle mimic the shapes, angles and color characteristics that amethyst stones have in a simple and stylized way.
I added the tag line, “on point printing service”, playing off the “point” of the triangle and the idea that printers provide precise and top-notch printing services.
The web banners are designed in different sizes, with different phrases but remain a recognizable set. The recognition comes from displaying consistent styling, colors, short phrases and the use of white space on each web banner. Each phrase shares a similar tone – they are short and clever to grab a viewer’s attention.
THIS PROJECT INCLUDED:
- Designing a horizontal and vertical format logo.
- Creating and using a brand identity on marketing collateral.
- Designing a set of recognizable web banners by using repeating and consistent elements.
