My client was the organizer of a bachelor party jeep trip to Arches National Park. He wanted a unique and original illustration for T-shirts that the group could wear together during their trip.

Illustrate Jesus driving a jeep through Arches National Park and design the t-shirt as front and back with the illustration on back (note: it was decided later that the final design should be 1-sided, front only).

Originally, the T-Shirt was going to be front and back but for the final product, it was designed as 1-sided to save on some printing costs. The 1-sided design also streamlined the message of the T-Shirt, since the illustration and text appear together.

The client wanted more emphasis on the jeep detailing and requested the detail of the arch to be simplified for the final illustration.

Original T-shirt design options are shown below. For the front of the shirt, I thought the preliminary text concepts were all great, easy to read choices – I got a kick out of designing them. I also preferred the more detailed arch that you see on the back of the t-shirt below – but sometimes we need to be flexible to our client’s preferences.
